10 days in Kosovo
Our lead pastor, Tim Saur, joined Mosaic Church on a trip to Gjilan, Kosovo to encourage the missionaries we’re supporting over there as they host an Art Camp for all of the local children. Below is an excerpt from his first email to us.
“…just checked into my hotel room in Krystal Hotel in Gjilan, (check out their web page - http://www.hotelkristal.biz/english.html ), as I’m unpacking my back pack, (my suitcase is still in Munich, Germany), I hear the call to prayer from one of the mosques here. We arrived in Pristina, Kosovo around 10:45 Sat morning. (we are 9 hours ahead of you all), after filling the forms for missing luggage, I was the last to go through customs. Because I look like a crook, they decided to search my luggage, actually, I had someone else’s luggage on the cart. One of the artists on the team brought in lots of Polaroid film for one of the projects, a whole carry-on-bag of film. Which had to be hand searched, not go through the Xray machine. That much apparently looked suspicious, or maybe I looked suspicious …. any way after searching the three bags I had with me and attempting to answer many questions as to what and why, and who… they finally let me pass with all the stuff…”
“if you want to follow my time in kosovo, follow on facebook, one of the team will be posting pics and updates on Mosaic Portland’s facebook page https://www.facebook.com/mosaicportland“
