Student Ministry
We call Compass’ Student Ministry GPS – God Pursuing Students. This reflects a new generation of the compass and Compass Church, as well as demonstrates the purpose of Student Ministry. We desire students in grades 6 to 12 to understand that God is pursuing them, and aim to guide them to respond to God.
This community is filled with students from all walks of life, but regardless of their differences we believe they are all looking for the kind of belonging that can only be found in Christ. We desire to build relationships within the schools of our neighborhood through parents, teachers, and students so that we might have opportunities to grow students into disciples of Jesus.
Everyone involved in Student Ministry – in grades 6 through 12 – meets in LifeGroups. We meet to pray, read the Bible, grow and mature in Christ, find belonging, and care for our community. We believe that as we grow in our knowledge of God and as we encourage each other to respond by living for Him, individuals attending these groups will be visibly different by their hope, their faith, and their love.
GPS – God Pursuing Students – meets on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The first half-hour includes a game and large-group interaction. The main hour is spent in Life Groups during which there is discussion of weekly Bible reading and time to pray and share our lives. Join us this year as we read through the Bible!
Individuals in GPS are reading through the Bible each week. Then during our Wednesday meetings, we discuss what we’ve read, ask questions, and share what we are learning. We hope you will read along with us!

February 17 – 19, 2012 Junior High Winter Camp @ Double K Camp in Easton, WA near Snoqualmie Pass.
We’ll join 6th through 8th graders from five other churches for the weekend of fun and learning more about God! There will be tubing and paintball for free, and skiing or snowboarding at the pass paid on your own.
Cost is $100 and there are scholarships available. February 1 is the deadline for registration with a $50 deposit. The balance of the money is due February 15.
